    About Monks of Ethos

    What is Monks of Ethos?

Monks of Ethos is a conscious clothing brand rooted in mindful living, ethical craftsmanship, and slow fashion. Our garments are inspired by the wisdom of monks and stoic philosophy, and are handcrafted using traditional khadi techniques.

No. We are a concept-driven craft house first. Commerce exists to sustain artisans and preserve handmade traditions β€” not to promote fast consumption.

    🧡 Products & Craftsmanship

We primarily use khadi β€” a hand-spun, hand-woven fabric known for its sustainability, breathability, and cultural significance.

Yes. Every Monks of Ethos garment is hand-spun, hand-woven, and hand-finished by skilled artisans. No mass production. No factory shortcuts.

Natural variations in texture, weave, and colour are a hallmark of handmade fabrics. These differences are not flaws β€” they are proof of human craftsmanship.

No. Our process avoids industrial automation as much as possible to preserve authenticity and artisan skill.

    πŸ’° Pricing & Value

    Our garments cost more because:

    • They take weeks, not hours
    • They involve human skill, not factory speed
    • They support artisan livelihoods
    • They preserve traditional weaving practices
    • They are made in small, intentional batches

You are not paying for trends or branding β€” you are investing in craft, ethics, and time.

We rarely offer discounts. Fair pricing ensures artisans are paid ethically and craftsmanship is respected.

    πŸ“¦ Orders & Production

Yes. Most garments are made after an order is placed, reducing waste and ensuring focused craftsmanship.

Production typically takes 7–21 business days, depending on the garment and artisan availability.

Orders can only be cancelled before production begins. Once crafting has started, cancellations are not possible.

    🚚 Shipping & Delivery

Yes, we ship both domestically and internationally.

    Domestic shipping: 3–7 business days

International shipping: 7–21 business days, depending on location and customs

Yes. Once your order is shipped, tracking details will be sent via email.

International orders may be subject to customs duties or import taxes, which are the responsibility of the customer.

    πŸ”„ Returns & Refunds

Due to the handmade and made-to-order nature of our garments, we do not accept returns for change of mind or sizing issues.

If your item arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 5 days of delivery with photos and your order number. We will arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.

No. Custom or made-to-measure orders are not eligible for return or refund unless defective.

    πŸ“ Sizing & Fit

We provide detailed size guides for each garment. If you are unsure, please contact us before ordering.

Yes, selected garments can be customized. Custom orders require additional production time.

The Golden Rule: Always prioritize your stomach measurement.

Linen has zero stretch. If the shirt is too tight at the waist, it will pull at the buttons and restrict your breath.

Example: If you are 5'7" with a 37" stomach, choose a Large. It is better to have a slightly longer shirt that flows than a short shirt that is too tight to wear comfortably.

For a Traditional Look: Size up. Linen is designed to drape away from the body, keeping you cool and relaxed.

For a Modern/Slim Look: Size down only if your stomach measurement is at least 2 inches smaller than the "Shirt Waist" listed in our chart.

The Monk's Roll: Our shirts are designed for the journey. We recommend a simple double-roll of the cuff. This highlights the internal French seam craftsmanship and suits the relaxed aesthetic of the brand.

Tailoring: Because our linen is of the highest quality, it takes beautifully to minor alterations. A local tailor can easily hem the sleeves to your exact preference.

We use pre-shrunk 100% Khadi linen. However, to maintain the perfect fit, always wash in cold water and hang to dry. Avoid high-heat dryers, which can tighten the natural fibers.

    🌱 Sustainability & Ethics

Yes. Khadi has a low carbon footprint, uses minimal electricity, and supports sustainable livelihoods.

Absolutely. Our philosophy emphasizes slow fashion, minimal waste, ethical sourcing, and long-lasting garments.
